More automotive strategy

I’ve been discussing innovation strategy among automotive companies in a few posts here lately, and I am returning to this industry again. Chrysler has just announced that it shuts down the production of electric gasoline hybrid SUV’s. This is an effort to save short-term profitability in a bleeding company. But it also illustrates very clearly how difficult it will be for the incumbent players to switch to new technology when they are under pressure. They are receiving the most of their revenues from the gasoline cars. So this is the money they try to keep when they have to cut down something. Save the short-term on the expense of the long-term. Anyone want to place a bet on Chrysler still being around ten years from now?

Cheers.

Love the look of this theme, can’t wait to test it out when I get home tonight It looks very “personal” and gives the feel it beingdone by hand rather than a computer.

You’re absolutely right, Sofia. Totally handmade. Handicraft in it’s purest form :-)
