An eco chic luxury car. An electrically power driven hybrid sprinter. The “Karma” by Fisker is probably the best bet right now for the first real environmentally conscious car. A car that can challenge the petrol luxury cars and give the luxury driver the opportunity to be environmentally conscious, eco chic, without sacrificing the pleasure of driving. You come whistling with 200km/h without any sound at all. The lines have been drawn by the same man that created the new classical legends such as the Aston Martin DB9.
Fisker is going to Finland for the production of its first plug-in hybrid, Valmat Automotive, which makes Porsche’s Boxter and Cayman models, will produce the Karma sedan beginning in the fourth quarter of 2009.
The news comes on the same day that Detroit’s General Motors said it would implement further layoffs and reductions in its truck production as a result of a significant shift in consumer demand toward smaller, more fuel efficient vehicles. Fisker car will be out during autumn 2009.
The demand for more sustainable cars has created a clear shift in the car industry that has earlier been dominated by huge international companies. Now we se a new generation with young entrepreneurial companies such as think, Fiskers and Reva challenging the industry while many of the big ones are struggling to survive.
I believe that we will se a enormous shift in the car industry were we will see many small, smart, environmentally friendly and new thinking car manufacturers.
